and baby Mar Mar

Best Friends Forever :)

Hazel absolutely loves Marlee, it is the sweetest thing. When ever she hears Mar Mar crying, Hazel is the first one to her rescue. She gets her little arms and hips swingin' and runs there as fast as her tiny feet will take her. She has been loving kissing and holding Marlee, and whenever Hazel sees current pictures of herself, she always says it's Mar Mar. Olivia says Hazel will be talking jibberish and out of no where will say Mar Mar, then go back to her crazy baby language. Hazel always starts out playing really sweet with Marlee, but over time starts getting some what vigorous :) She'll start by squealing "baby! Hi baby!" Then it moves to petting her head, and finally stealing her binky and shoving it back in her mouth. haha.

Just as I was thinking poor helpless Marlee, this story happened: The other day Hazel was leaning in to Marlee's bed, trying to smooch her or get as close to Marlee as she could. The next thing I know Mar Mar has Hazel by the hair in a double fisted grab, holding so tightly that they were looking nose to nose with each other. I ran over trying not to laugh at Hazel's astonished face, and just as I unhooked the two, Marlee started yanking on poor Hazel's clothes. Hazel was so sad that Marlee would do such a thing to her. As this was happening she was telling Marlee, "no no no!"

Hazel kept her distance from Mar Mar for the next couple hours, and nothing we could say changed her mind. I tried telling her to tickle Marlee and even kiss her, which she usually loves to do, and Hazel wasn't having any part of it. As far as Hazel knew, Marlee had broken their friendship for good. Nap time rolled around, and after Hazel woke up she had forgotten all about her and Mar Mar's first fight. Sleep can make you forget about a lot of things you thought were a big deal at the time, just ask Drew and I!

Happy LOVERS day!!

I decided to do the '12 Days of Valentines' for Drew this year. Drew loves a lot of things so it wasn't too hard to decide what to get him. The trouble was trying to get him different things than what he got for the 12 days of Christmas. For some reason I thought he loved Bratwursts... maybe I figured he loved bacon, and he likes eating hot dogs, so why wouldn't he love an even beefier hot dog like a brat? I guess I just figured that all men love them.

Day 1

Day 2
Bratwursts!!
Day 3

Lemon cookies
Day 4

Day 5
A fruit shake (peach)
Day 6
Klondike bars

Day 7

Day 8

Day 9

Day 10

Day 11

Day 12

Sadly I can't remember what I did for days 9 and 10... I'm hoping some day it'll come back to me.

Be mine for Valentine's!!

On Super Bowl Sunday, Amy helped me take a photo shoot of Mar Mar. I got a few things from the dollar store, and found the other decorations in Mar Mar's room. It was just supposed to be for a fun activity, but I ABSOLUTELY LOVE how they turned out, and am going to hang them up in her room! I was SOO giddy when I saw the pics, and am so thankful to Amy for her expertise in photo shop! Thanks Aim, they turned out amazing!!!

Happy Birthday ol' man part 2

I love you because…………….

1.     You’re the best daddy Marlee could ask for.

2.     You’ll do anything to make me laugh

3.     You are just as obsessed with Marlee as I am. If you could you’d be a stay-at-home dad.

4.     I can talk you into anything.

5.     You have the most kissable lips, and you gave them to MarleeJ.  Sorry it seems like I kiss hers more than yours.

6.     You have the biggest appetite. You are a garbage disposal, and I love that because I have a big appetite too!

7.     You are cheap just like me. You wear your socks with the holes that I made from dancing in them.

8.     You set so many goals for yourself because you are always striving to become better.

9.     You are such a compassionate husband.

10.    You are kind to everyone regardless of their background.

11.   You give everyone the benefit of the doubt, even if they are awful to be around.

12. You are so patient with me.

13. You help me to be decisive.

14.   You paint my finger nails if I ask you to.  You blow dry my hair when I am late, and brush my teeth for me when I am sick.

15. You clean up after Marlee and me, even though you’re tired from work.

16.  You value me as a woman and mother.

17.  You tell me you love me at least 15 times a day.

18.  You tell me you miss me when you’re standing right next to me.

19.  You sing to me even though it embarrasses you beyond belief.

20.  You get the job done. You are such a hard worker.

21.  You take the role of father and priesthood holder very seriously. You have such a strong desire to provide for Marlee and me.

22.  You play dance central with me. You want to become a better hip-hop dancer, and have taken on the second identity of Ja Rule.

23. You drove like a geyser even before we had Marlee.

24. You’re just as handsome as the Hemsworth brothers.

25. You are you:)

Happy Birthday ol' man!

This ol' man he played 8, he played 8, and now he's a whopping ol' 28! Happy Birthday Drewbie! I love you more than life itself. I hope you had an amazing birthday even though we ended up eating in the food court and staying at an old sketchy hotel! I can't imagine life without you in it. You are the perfect match for me!

Drew's Birthday was an adventure to say the least. I had it all planned out, and it was supposed to be a nice romantic evening. Well we started around 8 because Drew got off work late, but we went down to Salt Lake for dinner. The plan was to eat at Red Iguana the restaurant, and I heard there was one at City Creek so that's where we headed. My mom told me it was in the food court, and I thought it sounded strange to have a restaurant in the food court, but I just went with it. When we got there I checked the directory under restaurants, and no Red Iguana. I was so confused, and thought they maybe went out of business. But after further looking I found that it was in the food court, and it was the fast food version of Red Iguana. I still wanted to go to the actual restaurant, but Drew was starving by this point and was not having the idea of waiting any longer for food. So we ended up staring into each other's eyes over a fast food burrito in the food court chairs. Man was that romantic.

Next activity was to go to the hotel. I printed out the directions and was directing Drew from the back seat. We kept heading further and further West, deeper and deeper into sketchiness. We stayed at the Airport Inn, because from my research it was the cheapest hotel with the best ratings. AND the best part (besides the money I was saving by going to this hotel), was that it had a hot tub and free breakfast! I'll admit when I saw the area we were staying in, I thought about turning back home and forfeiting the money I put down on this hotel, and I am cheap. At one point I remember thinking that there was a chance we wouldn't make it through the night. A little dramatic I know, but I really was frightened.

We ended up spending about 10 minutes in that hot tub I was so excited about because Marlee started getting fussy, and missed the free breakfast the next morning because Drew was running late to work.We started watching Bourne Legacy on my mom and dad's little DVD player, and just as the movie started getting intense the DVD player died! HA! Perfect ending to a wonderful night! Story of my life.

No really it was such a fun night, and I'm glad all those things happened. It was fun having that little adventure together.:)

Here's a picture of the home made ice cream cake I made for Drew. It had an oreo crust, hot fudge layer, and caramel caribou ice cream. You can call me miss Suzy home maker by the looks of the picture if you'd like. It's supposed to say Happy B-day in hot fudge, but it smeared everywhere.
